Happy belated Labor Day!
I hope your weekend was eventful like ours was.
We labored AND had fun!
Noah helped Spencer mow our lawn while I cleaned the house from top to bottom...
...his brothers lucked out and didn't have to do any yard work;
they just played with water guns-
but in another year or two some of them won't get off the hook so easily.
On Sunday evening, Grandpa Campbell came over to the house and joined us for the evening to watch old Disney Goofy cartoons, eat lasagna, roast marshmallows and make Smores out back by the fire pitAND...
Here's the coolest part about the whole evening... Grandpa, Spencer and the 3 oldest boys, all slept out back on the trampoline! They looked at stars and shared ghost stories; the boys were all asleep within 15 minutes after snuggling into their sleeping bags.
Neither Grandpa NOR Spencer really expected any of the boys to actually sleep outside all night but they did! It wasn't until 7:30 the following morning that I could hear Ian from my bedroom window jumping around on the trampoline.
We ate a waffle breakfast with Grandpa before he had to leave, then Spencer and I packed all the boys into the car and took them for a nice drive up to visit the school where Spencer teaches (it's in West Jordan, near Herriman, out near the Kennecott copper mine) and we drove around to look at the surrounding area. It's really a beautiful area with some gorgeous views. That's it! That's what kept us occupied during the weekend. Oh, and we napped too of course. We have a LOT of sleep to catch up on since returning home from vacation and starting school.
