The Friday before Christmas, Noah and his class from preschool preformed in a Winter Program at B.Y.U. in the Harmon building for families.
It was a really cute performance; the kids sang a medley of holiday songs that they learned and some got to dress up as Toy Soldiers, little dollies, reindeer and a few kids, including Noah were Santa's little helpers.
I had to laugh at Noah through out the entire performance; he was wearing a new long sleeved shirt I bought him from the Quicksilver store. It was a thermal shirt and apparently he didn't like the texture of the shirt because through out the entire program (it was almost an hour long), he was partially undressing himself! He nearly had his shirt off in front of an audience of at least 50+ people!
Check this out,
in this shot below, his left hand is coming out of his neck collar!
He didn't seem to mind that he was indescent in front of the audience,
but by the look on the little girls face who had to sit next to him,
I'd say she was pretty upset she had to sit next to a stripper!
Gotta love that in the following picture Noah's showing off his big Buddha belly! I had a hard time controlling my laughter watching him up on stage. As I think about it now though,
maybe he was fidgeting with his shirt because he was nervous up on stage... Hmmm, I wonder??? He's a pretty confidant kid but maybe singing isn't his forte.
I determined after the performance that day that some kids just REALLY like to sing (I know because I could pick out a few in the crowd who were singing MUCH louder than the other children); then there are those kids who DO NOT like to sing and choose to keep their mouths fixed shut; and lastly, there's the one kid in the crowd who decides to be silly and PRETEND that he's singing!
That kid was Noah.
I have to give him credit for doing such a good job; he had us all fooled at first but when he continued to open and close his mouth as though he were singing just after the first song ended, without producing ANY noise, we KNEW he was just pretending to sing. He's a pretty clever kid! I can't tell you where he learned that trick but it was pretty ingenious, don't you think???
PHOTO BOMB!
Okay, not really.
Noah really is supposed to be in the picture;
he was just being being a goof!
Two of Trish's kids were in the performance too.
On the far left is Izzy (he was NOT up on stage, he's only 2); next to Izzy is Daniel (he preformed)
and sandwiched between Daniel and Noah is Ms. Bella (she preformed too).
Just a funny side note: When we arrived at the Harmon Building, we had to drop Noah off at a different door than the one that we entered so he could go up on stage with his class. We took Ian with us to watch the performance and just as we were leaving Noah with his class, two of the teachers asked us who's class Ian was preforming with. You should have seen the look of surprise on their faces when I explained to them that he wouldn't be preforming because he was only 2!
Poor kid, he gets mistook for being older than he really is ALL the time!
Since we're already discussing Noah's preschool class,
I guess it wouldn't hurt to add a copy of his class picture in this same post.
Cute huh?
I can hardly believe he's already old enough
to be in a class picture!
He LOVES preschool and his teacher is FABULOUS! He's made lots of friends at school; he's lucky in that he gets to be in the same class with his very best friend/cousin Daniel! There's a little girl in his class by the name of Nona. Every once in a while we receive her school work instead of Noah's. It's so funny what Noah tells us about his classmates. The first day of school he came home and told us there was a little GIRL in his class with his name; it wasn't until later that we figured out that the girl he was talking about was Nona, not a girl named Noah. Could you imagine that? A parent naming their girl Noah??? I suppose it could happen, but that would just be strange.
Noah has also told us about a friend in class named Hyrum. He said Hyrum is ALWAYS getting in trouble!
He's learning a lot at school. He's learned how to write and spell his name. He's learned all of his shapes, colors, numbers, all the days of the week, about holidays and he's learning to recognize letters of the alphabet. He still has another year before he'll be eligible to start Kindergarten (kids in Utah MUST be 5 before September 1st to start Kindergarten- however Noah won't be 5 years old till September 19TH), so this means that he'll be in preschool for another year. Next year in preschool he'll learn how to read and write words.
More recently, on the first Thursday in February, we had parent/teacher conference. Noah's teacher told us that he is an excellent student. Apparently he listens well and follows instructions, and he plays nicely with the other children in class (that was a relief to hear; I'd hate to receive news that my kid was the class bully); his teacher assessed him and said that Noah's right on track for learning; she also said that he's quite meticulous with his school work and that he's quite the little builder and can construct some amazing things in class with building blocks (that we already knew. The kid is destined to be an engineer!). She reiterated at least 6 or 7 times how she absolutely ADORES his smile and added that the little girls in class sure like Noah a lot too! She said that the little girls in class tend to always cluster around Noah (it must be his hair ;-) ). At the beginning of class Noah will pick a desk to write at and after that all the little girls will clamor to sit next to him!
CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!
He's already a ladies man but doesn't even know it yet!
