Trip to the zoo...
This last Wednesday I took the boys, and their cousin Daniel, to the ZOO in Salt Lake City; Spencer happened to have Wednesday off from work as well, so he joined us on our trip.
It was the perfect day to visit the zoo. It wasn't crowded and the weather was mild- not too hot but chilly enough we all needed a sweater. We've gone to the zoo during the summer and the heat is just miserable, so this was a pleasant surprise.
This was the first time that Ian really paid attention to the animals and appeared to be interested in them. He LOVED watching the elephants in their encounter; this pachyderm kept banging on the steel door in its enclosure trying to call the attention of its zoo keeper for food.
Ian and Daniel also had a BALL playing with the water sculpture near the front of the park!
Noah got some great exercise walking around the park with his cousin. Ian was allowed to walk some of the time but he's a wanderer so he spent most of this visit in the stroller next to Cohen.I still have to laugh whenever I see Ian next to Cohen and their difference in size ; it's so difficult to believe they're only a year apart in age!
Since the two older boys did well with keeping up with us and not wandering off, we rewarded them by letting them ride on the train and the Merry Go Round just before we left.
Cohen LOVED the sight and sounds of the Merry Go Round- he was ALL giggles while watching it go round and round.
